Stuart graduated from the University of Otago in 1990 and became a Fellow of the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners in 1998.
He has always had an interest in dermatology and skin cancer treatment, working in a variety of specialist clinics in the Auckland region.
In 2001 he completed a Diploma of Dermatology from the University of Cardiff and has also completed the courses and examinations to become an Accredited Member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Stuart is a foundation member of NZ Skin Cancer Doctors and is a Research Fellow in the Skin Cancer Unit at James Cook University
