Dr Catrinel (Cathy) Popescu is a specialist dermatologist and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She trained at University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest and Sweden, completing her dermatology training in 2013.
Dr Popescu worked as specialist with a particular interest in Skin Cancer detection and management, focusing on the use of Teledermoscopy for early detection of skin tumours, at Gavel Hospital in Sweden, before moving to New Zealand in 2019, where she has worked for Skin Institute.
Her special interests in dermatology are medical dermatology (e.g. acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea) and the detection and treatment of skin cancers.
