Born and raised in New Zealand, Ben gained his qualifications in Australia completing his bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Newcastle in NSW. Since then he has completed his RACGP fellowship and subsequently FRNZCGP fellowship in NZ.
In Australia, Ben developed his skills and interest for skin cancer medicine completing an advanced certificate of skin cancer medicine and practicing on the North Shore of Sydney.
He moved back to New Zealand in 2022 with his wife and their newborn to be close to family. When not at work he is obsessed with all things golf in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.
