Skin Institute - the experts in Skin Cancer management

  • Your initial consultation

If you haven’t had your skin checked before, or it’s been a while since you have, a full body skin cancer consultation is the place to start. At Skin Institute, only qualified doctors will carry out your consultation. You’ll be asked to change down to your underwear – this will allow the doctor to complete a thorough examination of your whole body. The consultation is completed with you lying down on a bed, covered by a blanket. The doctor will check your skin area by area, including feet and legs, stomach and arms, back of legs, soles of feet, back, neck, face and scalp. The Derm Light (or Dermatoscope) is used to pick up patterns of change in your skin that are associated with the early signs of skin cancer, such as pigment or blood vessels.
