COVID19 Protection Framework

Skin Institute is proud to have been looking after New Zealanders Skin for more than 25 years across our medical based areas of the business; Skin including Dermatology and Skin Cancer, Varicose Veins and medically necessary Appearance medicine such as migraine treatments as well as our cosmetic area of the business, Appearance Medicine.

Under the new Covid Protection Framework and following recent guidance from both the Ministry of Health and Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, there are different requirements for the medical areas of the business and the cosmetic area of the business in regards to Covid-19 vaccination requirements.

It is a requirement under COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 for our team to be fully vaccinated to be able to provide any services and treatments.

MEDICAL AREAS: Skin (Skin Cancer & Dermatology), Varicose Veins and Medical Appearance Medicine (incl treatment for migraines)
As a medical based business, we have a duty to provide medical services to those seeking treatment and a duty to our colleagues to protect them from potential risks.

As such, we will be asking your vaccination status when you book with us, and requiring you to scan your My Vaccine Pass when you arrive in our clinics.

Non Vaccinated & Exempt Patients for medical treatments
For those who are not vaccinated, are exempt or prefer not to disclose, there will be additional requirements and safety measures in place to keep you, our other patients in the clinic, and our team as safe as possible, such as:

  • Virtual appointment where appropriate

For face-to-face appointments:

  • Proof of negative Covid test 72 hours prior (which if there is a cost, will not be reimbursed by Skin Institute)
  • Our team will wear full PPE
  • Allocated time slots, typically available once a week at the end of the day
  • You will be asked to wait outside, phone when you arrive and welcomed in when your provider is ready for you
  • You will be asked to wear a surgical mask, which can only be removed if necessary to complete the treatment

COSMETIC AREAS: Appearance Medicine
Under the current COVID-19 Protection Framework, Skin Institute is requiring patients who are receiving Cosmetic (non-medical) Appearance Medicine treatments to be fully vaccinated. It is also a requirement for our team to be fully vaccinated to be able to provide these treatments.
