Dermal Fillers

An injectable cosmetic treatment that is used to soften wrinkles and facial folds, lip augmentation, cheek enhancement and for correcting asymmetrical facial features.

How does it work?

Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid or collagen and work by ‘plumping’ up or restoring volume to the area being treated, therefore giving a more youthful appearance.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found in all living organisms, in particular the soft connective tissue in the body and in the fluid surrounding the eyes. Filler injections help to boost the body’s own reserves and reduce the effects of a thinning epidermis.

Treatment info

A filler treatment is mildly uncomfortable and takes around 60 minutes to treat one area. Temporary fillers last approximately 6-12 months. Semi-permanent fillers last approximately 18-24 months. Some brands of hyaluronic acid fillers include Restylane®
and Juvederm®.

After treatment

Normal activities can be resumed immediately following treatment. The short-term side effects of fillers may include temporary site redness, swelling and tenderness.
