L 20/11/06 _____________________________________________________________ The proceedure I had was an upper eyelid tuck and laser under eye; a rhinoplasy proceedure and laser to under nose and around mouth and chin area. I was well informed of all the proceedures (but was not going to be put off by too much information) and I had every faith in my Surgeon Mark Izzard who was very approachable and has a great sense of fun, so I was very open to his suggestions and comfortable with talking about, to me, a delicate issue, having wanting to have this done for decades. Not once did I think "oh what am I doing" and I arrived at the "rooms" quite excited as my heart beat must have registered. Prior to that day I had dealings with two other staff members; Claire, who made the appointments and was always available to answer any queries should I have any and Michelle, the Nurse who helped me complete all the various forms correctly and advised me on what drugs to take and when.So I had nothing to concern myself about. Just get to the appointment at the agreed time. The Anaethetist, Charlie, was so thorough in going over everything and reassured me that I would have a beautiful rest and wake up feeling great. It was as he said. Everyday there was such an improvement to the eyes and bruising was hardly noticeable. I religiously appled the various ointments, rested and drank plenty of water. I was slightly apprehensive about having the splints taken out of my nose but again I was amazed at the dexterity and ease my Surgeon handled this.Thank you so much Mark. The Nursing Staff were so kind and gentle and Nurse, Kate would come in during the weekend to dress the face; I really appreciated the help. I do realise there are many more people buzzing around helping to make the establishment run like clockwork. I recommend The Skin Institiute for the complete care and wellbeing of any person who wants this type or any type of surgery that is completed there as I cannot believe how quick the recovery has been and I am venturing out again after less than a week from commencement of surgery. It is so quick in fact I am going to surprise my nearest and dearest and friends and I will be back at work after two weeks away. Today is Day 8 and I have a few bandage strips over my nose, the swelling is less noticeable and the laser marks are rapidly fading.
